The Workshop on “Basic Life Support (BLS)” was conducted (for MBBS Final Year students) in Madinah Teaching Hospital (MTH) in collaboration with Rescue 1122 Faisalabad from 04-09-2015 to 10-09-2015.Three sessions of this workshop were conducted and students were taught CPR skills to be used on victims of all ages, the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief from foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). The students were also made aware of firefighting and shifting skills for patients with spinal injuries.
The workshop included the following:
- Audio-visual demos
- Hands on experience using manikins (Adult &Infant)
- Use of Bag Valve Masks for rescue breathing
- Use of Automated External Defibrillators(AED)
Every candidate was assessed through multiple choice questions (MCQs) and skill tests.
