Introduction

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics was established in March 2019 with the primary goal of providing optimum nutritional care to both indoor and outdoor patients. 

The focus of clinical nutrition is to promote health, prevent diseases, and support patients in managing chronic health conditions through evidence-based diet plans.

The department strictly follows the Punjab Health Commission and ISO certification guidelines, ensuring quality and safety in every service. Expert dietitians develop customized diet plans for different conditions such as celiac disease, hypertension, diabetes, and gastrointestinal disorders. 

Clinical nutrition includes assessing nutrient intake, managing nutrition-related symptoms, and offering effective interventions to improve patient outcomes.

For Indoor Patients

Nutrition care policies are implemented in 7 hospital wards, including:

  • Medicine Ward
  • Gastroenterology Ward
  • Orthopedic and Surgery Ward
  • Gynecology Ward
  • General Pediatric Ward
  • Pediatric Surgery Ward

In other words, nutrition services are available on an on-call basis.

For Outdoor Patients

  • Daily OPD services are available for patients seeking dietary advice.
  • Expert dietitians provide tailored plans, including celiac disease diet plans, weight management, and diet therapy for chronic diseases.

Academic and Training Services

  • House jobs, internships, and clinical training programs are offered to nutrition graduates.
