Introduction:
The Department of Pediatrics Madina Teaching hospital is a well-equipped unit, comprising of the Pediatric inpatient, Emergency unit, Pediatrics HDU, Outpatient, neonatal HDU and vaccination center. The Pediatrics department is providing outpatient services on daily basis in addition to round the clock emergency services seven days a week. We deal with all types of neonatal and Pediatric medical emergencies including meningitis, status epilepticus, severe bronchopneumonia, cardiac failure, respiratory failure, severe asthma. We have a well-equipped neonatal ICU with invasive and non-invasive ventilator support for neonates with respiratory emergencies and premature babies. The diagnostic and therapeutic facilities are available for all type of childhood illnesses like kidney disorders, nutritional deficiencies, cardiac cases, short stature, malabsorptive disorders and endocrine disorders of children upto 16 years of age.
In addition to the clinical care provided to the patients, the department is well known for its academic activities including participation and presentations in seminars, conferences, workshops and research activities at national and international level on regular basis.
The department of Pediatrics is accredited with the college of physician and surgeons Pakistan for postgraduate fellowship FCPS and multiple fellows have been produced successfully during last 6 years of accreditation.
