The Department of Paediatric & Neonatal Surgery at Madinah Teaching Hospital in Faisalabad is a premier surgical unit, established in August 2022, dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and research of pediatric congenital disorders. The department offers comprehensive care for a wide range of pediatric conditions, from congenital to acquired diseases. Additionally, the department is involved in academic and research activities, contributing to the advancement of treatment and the training of future medical professionals. The unit is recognized for FCPS training by CPSP. The unit is headed by Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood Ch with more than 25 years of surgical experience in pediatric and neonatal surgery, having more than twenty five national and international research papers in his credit published in journals recognized by PMDC & HEC.

Services offered:

The Department of Paediatric & Neonatal Surgery conducts its outpatient clinic four days a week from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm except Wednesday & Saturday ( operation days) .OPD maintaining a high standard of care to the patients. Those patients requiring indoor care are admitted. We also cater emergency 24 hours 7 days a week.

Diagnostic Procedures

•  Examination under anesthesia
•  Biopsy of benign and neoplastic lesions
•  Diagnostic Laparoscopy with collaboration with general surgical unit

Therapeutic Procedures

• Inguinal and umbilical hernias, hydrocele, split skin grafting, cleft lip and palate, hypospadias of all kind , Circumcision ,PBC release,
• Open major procedure like DUHAMEL, PSARP, Exploratory laparotomy, congenital atresias, IHRPS,   etc.
•  Tumor excision surgeries like WILMS tumor, Neuroblastoma, Rhabdomyosarcoma, ovarian tumors etc.
• Neonatal Surgery for Congenital Anomalies like Esophageal atresia with tracheoesophageal fistula , Congenital DH, Anorectal malformation , Meconium ileus, Hirschsprung disease
